Promotion refers to all those techniques used to communicate with existing and potential customers. Successful promotion involes telling the right people, about the right product and persuading them the price is right.
There are 8 main types of promotional techniques used by leisure and tourism organisations. These are:
- Advertising
- Direct Marketing
- Public Relations
- Personal Selling
- Displays
- Sponsorship
- Demonstrations
- Sales Promotions
The choice of promotional activity is determined by budget, type of product and target audience.
