Key Aspects of the market and how it can influence the leisure industry
You need to understand which people take part in leisure activities,
and which type of leisure activities appeal to different market
segments. You need to understand how the industry works to
combat the barriers which prevent people accessing the leisure
industry.
How will I be assessed?
Level 1 - limited analysis of some of the key factors that influence access, participation and barriers to the industry
Level 2 – analyse the effects of key factors on access, participation and barriers. Some reference to different market segments.
Level 3 – detailed research, appropriate analysis of of the key factors and their influence on access, participation and barriers in different market segments
Level 4 – well developed research from a variety of sources. Appropriate analysis of the key factors and their influence on access, participation and barriers.
Assignment Structure

Explain how the different products and services offered by the leisure organisations you have studied are targeted to different market segments.

Explain why effective use of market segmentation information is vital for the success of any leisure organisation.
